The OAC Burial Society was first established in South Africa in 1986 with the objective of providing a dignified funeral service to the members of the Old Apostolic Church who would not otherwise be able to afford such a funeral service.The Society has grown to more than 60,000 members in South Africa in 2020 and expanded to provide similar services in the neighbouring countries of Namibia, Swaziland (Eswatini) and Botswana.

The Burial Society is independently registered in each country where applicable legislation allows.
Burial Societies are Associations of Persons with common interests and rely on the structure of the Church for an easy access for its members based on a national footprint in every country it operates.
The OAC Burial Society has been established with governing rules and is subject to applicable legislation in the countries it operates.
To strengthen our governance structures there are national Boards of Management and regional Executive Committees composed from suitable experience indiviNAMFISAho bear the good will of the Members of the Societies at heart.
The Societies and its Affiliates are also subject to independent Audit Risk and Compliance Overview, Annual Independent Audit and Actuarial Review. The Societies are required by law to annually submit reports to the relevant Legislated Governing Bodies such as among others the FSCA in South Africa and NAMFISA in Namibia.
